Is it recommended to have a electrical and plumbing inspection, in addition to standard building and pest, when purchasing a 1960s house?
Ahhhh I see you have read the disclaimers in the building report .
In your position I'd save the money on the reports and use it to fix anything you find wrong with the electrical or the plumbing.
If the plumbing is copper and the wiring TPS (white sheathed) then I wouldn't worry. The only other thing is to have a safety switch installed.
Exactly what we did at our place. It's 1960 fibro place and we just got a safety switch installed.
