在澳大利亚 I need some advice regarding a property purchase. Property - semi-detached house Bedrooms - 2 Condition - average needs internal reno to modernise Street - one of the best in suburb Location - excellent Close to schools - yes Transport - 50m The pool at of an IP needs to be resurfaced (or so the pool doctor says), the cost was estimated to be $10K ($10,000), after recoverying from my impresssion of a cat coughing up a fur ball, it just seems far too much. Its just a standard poo


Is it recommended to have a electrical and plumbing inspection, in addition to standard building and pest, when purchasing a 1960s house? :eek:

Ahhhh I see you have read the disclaimers in the building report :).

In your position I'd save the money on the reports and use it to fix anything you find wrong with the electrical or the plumbing. ;)

If the plumbing is copper and the wiring TPS (white sheathed) then I wouldn't worry. The only other thing is to have a safety switch installed.

Exactly what we did at our place. It's 1960 fibro place and we just got a safety switch installed.
