澳洲Australia property Anyone been to VCAT on planning matter ??


在澳大利亚 I need some advice regarding a property purchase. Property - semi-detached house Bedrooms - 2 Condition - average needs internal reno to modernise Street - one of the best in suburb Location - excellent Close to schools - yes Transport - 50m The pool at of an IP needs to be resurfaced (or so the pool doctor says), the cost was estimated to be $10K ($10,000), after recoverying from my impresssion of a cat coughing up a fur ball, it just seems far too much. Its just a standard poo


I'm looking to contact any forum member who has taken a planning matter to VCAT (Victoria). I'm looking to represent myself because the alternative is just so costly. Any tips or advice greatly appreciated. Please post or PM if preferable. Thanks

I have. Easy enough process. For the sake of a few thousand I would employ a townplanning lawyer. He/she will do a better job and chances are will know the vcat member. PM me if you need any info.

Used a lawyer last time...

We've been to VCAT once before on a neighbourhood dispute. It does strike me as a pretty simple exercise. Last time, we used a lawyer recommended by others. Cost us not a few grand, but more like $10K. (Neighbours all chipped in on that one.) On the day lawyer did a total s--thouse job. I doubt he had even read the casenotes we gave him before we went to the hearing. We lost. :confused:
