I am about to purchase my first investment property and I would love to hear from someone that has been in the same position, i.e. currently divorced and paying regular child support, strictly based on salary wages.
The question is, how will the Child Support Agency (CSA) view rental income once rental income is added to my taxable income? Does the CSA calculate child support payments based on this new amount (rent + wage) and/or do they take into account that the rent is offsetting all the expenses and that I am not actually receiving the rent as living expenses?
