澳洲Australia property Gas instant hot water | Sydney
在澳大利亚 Ive got myself a copy of three current property mags (API, YIP, SPI) to check out the data tables etc. Just wondering how reliable are the statistics they report since Ive found some differences. Example: postcode 4700 Rockhampton City vacan Is it recommended to have a electrical and plumbing inspection, in addition to standard building and pest, when purchasing a 1960s house? 评论 Ahhhh I see you have read the disclaimers in the building report . So... when it rains like this for a few days and the "air" is wet, out instant gas hot water system that sits on the side of our house will not light unless hubby stands in the rain under a brolly with an extension cord and a blow dryer, drying out the area where the pilot light is... dangerous (we do have a safety trip switch thingy though).
After having to do it (yet again) for the past three nights, we thought it is time to buy a new gas instant heater. Our plumber says we should buy what he has, a Bosch electronic ignition instant unit.
My question to those who have one of these is - will this be the same? Or does NOT having a pilot flame mean we can get rid of the hair dryer once and for all?
Hubby has talked of building a little "house and roof" around the system, but I think it is not direct rain that causes the problem, more the "wet" air all around. It must be on an external wall AFAIK, so how do others get on?
Are there others standing in the rain blow drying their gas systems? And will the recommended one stand up to the wet?
We have a rinnai infinity sealed unit. Its never needed anything done to it - no idea if it even has a pilot light. It's all sealed up. Rain doesn't bother it.
Only downfall with it is the temp is preset to 50 degrees, which sometimes is not hot enough.
Got a Rinnai, been going good for 13 years. A friendly plumber bumped the temp limiter up to 55 which makes for a nice hot sink of water for washing, yet still not hot enough to burn before the brain registers it's hot move your hand.
Haven't had trouble with wet but then again we live in Adelaide. Even in torrential downpour heater still works fine.
