Labor has claimed the New South Wales seat of Kiama with voters overwhelmingly backing candidate Katelin McInerney over the Liberal's Serena Copley.

This was the Labor candidate's second run at the seat, after marginally losing the seat at the 2023 state election to former Liberal and Independent MP Gareth Ward, who is now in jail on sex offences.
