I guess the main thing is to check what is the waiting period for obstetrics cover, usually 12 months. Also make sure to change your health cover to family cover before the birth of baby, just to make sure that baby is covered by the insurance when he/she is bornt. Also check with the insurer that it is affiliate with the hospital that you would like to have your baby, or have a chat with the hospital about which insurer you are using.
