I've got a B&D roller door about 6 months old that clangs and bangs a bit near the bottom of the down travel.
B&D did a warranty call on it and told me that it's normal and nothing to worry about, the service bloke said that as the springs are tensioning up the coils skip a bit against each other, but that they've been tested for a 25 year life循环。

Close the roller door, stand inside the garage adjacent the roller door & look up to see the internals.
That's only happens when the door fitted is at its max height size for the opening, similar to whats shown in the picture. (usually something like 300mm needs to stay on the roller as minimum)
In most cases I've seen when there is an opening height that does not extend the door to its max height size, there's still enough wrapped around the roller that it covers the internals.
I assumed the OP would have noticed this if it was the case?

Sounds like the torsion/drum shaft bearings.
If so, then it is pointless to lube them as they will be stuffed and need replacing.
I had this a while back on a heavy segmented panel double width door.
