there is one big disadvantage of this way of installation,
if the cable is ever gets damaged, the tech who will attend will not be super excited to replace it all the way to NTD, and may refuse to do it.

I guess it pretty much a non issue, the pcd box is just where they join the two cable together so as long as the whole cable is not direct buried it's a piece of cake to rerun new cables and make new pcd in between
