The NRL is potentially facing a major challenge to keep hold of its star players amid the development of a Saudi-backed breakaway rugby competition.
The rogue competition, known as R360, has been confirmed to have approached New Zealand Warriors outside back Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, while there are also rumours other NRL stars are in the sights of the league which could present "significant" financial opportunities for players.
According to reports by the Sydney Morning Herald, Tuivasa-Sheck could find himself earning almost twice his current salary if he were to sign with the Saudi-backed competition in 2027 for nearly $1 million a season.
The 32-year-old will be on about $550,000 during the final year of his three-year NRL contract in 2026.
