It’s a very hard and sad decision to make. It’s the car that taught me how to properly drive and I never thought I would be bonded with a car so much. I will miss every rev-match, heel and toe shifting and people’s compliments.
Mileage should add another 10k miles as previous owner changed to km odometer in 2010.
It turns heads every single time. The metallic blue factory paint is so shiny under the sun, I do wax and polish twice a year to keep its glory. But it’s the time to say good bye and pass to the next good home.
No accident and never tracked. Very clean and tidy owners history, you will not seen anyone like this. Only around 10 S2 Exige in NZ, It’s extremely rare. Only one previous owner before me, he bought her back in 2004 in the UK, and brought back to NZ when immigrated. He moved to a lifestyle home and sold her to me in 2020. Car even comes with the original receipt when he first bought it in 2004. Regularly serviced, new battery changed last year and always on trickle charge from Monday to Friday. I only traveled 6000 km during my 3 years ownership. You can daily it as it’s super reliable with Toyota drivetrain. Very cheap to maintain too with Toyota parts. I upgraded to Apple CarPlay entertainment unit with touchscreen, rear view camera, it’s a very practical car. Upgraded Forged Carbon Fibre wing (worth 5k), really shiny, and Carbon Fibre Column Shroud too. Removable hard top and AC is working perfectly in summer.
The S2 Exige got Toyota 2ZZ-GE 1.8 litre VVTL-i engine and gearbox with Lotus ECU and Yamaha tuning. This engine has dual lift cam profiles similar to the Honda VTEC with a switch to a high lift valve at around 6000rpm through to redline at 8500rpm. The engine produces its maximum torque at 6800rpm and peak power of 195 hp at 7800rpm with around 900 kg weight.
