Design Project Coordinator-Albany, Auckland
VIKON Construction and Design is a diverse provider in the construction industry. Our teams of project managers, QS, architectural designers, interior designers and interior joinery makers collaborate to deliver high quality design and building projects. We focus on medium scale residential developments, high end residential houses, commercial interior design and commercial alterations. Our clients include home owners, investors, property developers, business owners and government agencies.
In this new role, the Design Project Coordinator will directly report to head of design by providing administrative support to design team on quotation, contract, project coordination and effectively act as a focal point to handle complaints from stakeholders.
The candidate will need to be a motivated, highly organised, and passionate to streamline process and timing of design projects. Furthermore you will need to have excellent communication ability to deal with designers, consultants, council and clients.
General tasks:
• Coordinate and control design submittals forowner’s review and approval
• Assist review, negotiate and recommend for approval/disapproval on design change orders
• Administer design subcontract including processing monthly invoices for payment
• Perform constructive reviews conforming design to prime contract requirements and proposal commitments
• Facilitate resolving design issues with owner
• Assist designer on special research and technical projects
• Manage all related documentations in a good order
• Perform focal point role to maintain appointment agenda and inform commitments to team members
• Oversee design progress against schedule and budget
• Follow up to implement corrective measures for identified distractions or issues
• Handle complaints from stakeholders and report to head of design
You should have:
• Relevant architectural design assist or support experience is preferred
• Proven track record of coordination or customer services skills
• Excellent verbal and written skills in both English and Mandarin
• Good PC skills, a capable communicator
• Good time management and follow through skills
• A self-driven and passionate quick learner
• Having New Zealand working permit(citizen/PR/Working Visa)
• Holding valid and clear full New Zealand driving license is preferred

Architectural Designer / Draftsperson (Intermediate)-Botany & Albany
VIKON Design iscurrently seeking a draftsperson to join its team. This suit junior or intermediate draftspersons who wish to step up from their current roles and take on more responsibilities.

Responsibilities include:
• Site visits and customer consultations with sales team
• Deliver customer briefing sessions and produce concept designs
• Preparation of full working drawings and specifications for Building Consent applications
• Develop creative design ideas and collaborate with construction management teams to meet build ability and cost
budgeting requirements
• Supervise junior designers, peer review design by others and uphold company design standards
Your skills and abilities:
• Proficient in computer drafting software
• Experience in Autodesk Revit is a plus but not essential
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines
• Excellent communication and great problem solving skills
• Creative, precise and efficient
• Systematic knowledge of NZ building codes, standards, and construction methods
• A valid New Zealand working permit (Work Visa/PR/Citizen)
• Holding valid and clear New Zealand driving license

• Collaborate with interior designers for the design and specification of joinery
• Manufacturing and installing kitchens and other interior joinery
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised production area
• Comply and promote health and safety practices and other business administration policies
• Do installation and liaise all site work within workshop procedures as requiredby the company
• Ad hoc and reasonable tasks assigned by senior tradesman or management
You should have:
• 1+ years’ experience in a similar hands-on role
• Have reliable transport & a full NZ driver's license
• High standards for quality of work with attention to detail
• Ability to take instruction and work unsupervised
• Awareness and abilities to enforce health and safety standards
• Strong work ethic, support company management and marketing strategies
• Be a problem solver
• A valid New Zealand working permit (Citizen/PR/Work Visa)
Additional Details:
• This is a full-timerole working Monday - Friday, there will be a requirement to work some rostered Saturdays.
• Helper job mainly focus on helping team to do workshop cleaning, necessary assistance job and gain on job training to do basic joinery stuff following work and development plan. (帮工岗位的职责主要集中在帮助团队进行车间清洁，必要的辅助工作以及按照工作和培训计划进行初级的细木工工作）
