已经收到AUT的OFFER，7月开学，在考虑是否带上老婆孩子从深圳一起过来，咨询过学校的幼稚园，25纽币一天，120纽币一周，时间是7.30AM到5.15PM。 还没找好住的地方，但计划尽量住的离学校近些。关于幼儿园，请问还有别的选择吗？听说还有免费的，免费的好像都是上半天学的吧？
本人没来过NZ，希望前辈们多多指教。

Which campus are you at? Manukau, City or North Shore?
Not sure if your kid has got the 20 hours subsidies if he/she is not PR....
The one you've ask is really cheap, you have to make sure it's good and safe. The average-good one normally goes over $250.00, some better ones even over 300NZD.

I will study for a master degree, so my wife can apply for a work visa, but my child can only get a visit visa.
I want to get some more infomation about cases of students who go with their family, but there is only few and out-of date data on the Internet.

Then you've to pay full rate of day care.
I am not familiar with day care around that areas, but I will suggest you to come and visit the day care centre when you have arrived NZ, you will be able to obtain more info by then, and you can make sure if he/she like staying there.

我大约一个月前通过学校提供的电邮，联系上CITY CAMPUS的幼儿园，并给我女儿填表报了名。他们说是学校的STAFF开办的。目前还没说有学位，只是说先给我们排队等学位。
之前也上教育局的网站之类的查询过，似乎有些学校只需要donate一些东西而不用学费的，但大都半天。
半天的话，因为我要上课，老婆也希望找份工作，时间上不好安排。
可能从费用和时间上来看，学校这个幼儿园是首选了。

以前问过aut幼儿园，被告知waiting list 要两年，建议你先找好住的地方，然后在住家附近找幼儿园，等aut那个不太靠谱，如果你不住市中心，那你要开车上学吗，如果你不开车而坐公车，那不是还得带孩子一起坐公车，晚上下课的时候，公车上人那个多啊。

嗯，你说的情况，我也考虑过，之前我有个在澳洲的朋友也说他们那里至少要提前一年报名排队，所以我担心，到时候过去了，还没有学位，然后我找别的幼儿园，因为没有提前排队，也没有学位，那岂不是要老婆在家带孩子。似乎很不妥，因为本来计划老婆过来可以工作，挣点饭钱，如果这样，就麻烦了。我是希望住学校附近，或者走路15-20分钟左右能到学校，就不用挤公交了。刚到那边，目前还没计划买车，也不敢开车，虽然在国内有四五年驾龄。
所以，我其实在犹豫要不要带他们过来，或者等第二年已经比较了解这边了再带他们过来。

The ECE subsidies apply to Parents who are residents or citizens, LZ think through before you are taking your kid over, as you are not entitled to the ECE 20 hours benefit. All the subsidies or free of charge facilities only apply to those people who have permanent residency and citizenship. Your kid may need to pay for full rate, which may count to over 10k/annum. It's suggested to take your kid over when you've got the residency.

Who is eligible for the Childcare Subsidy?
The Childcare Subsidy is available for up to 9 hours a week where the parent is not working and up to 50 hours a week where the parent is working or training. A person may get a Childcare Subsidy if they:
- are the main carer of a dependent child
- do not have a partner who can provide childcare
- are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
- normally live in New Zealand and intend to stay here.

学校的waitinglist 通常都很长。而且如果兄弟姐妹在这个幼儿园上过的话，弟弟妹妹再上是有优先权的。
所以建议你不要把宝都压在学校的这个幼儿园上。主要看你打算住在哪里，然后就近找一家幼儿园。
如果没有身份的话，拿不到政府的补助。每周大约200-300左右的费用吧。

目前看，我一个人先过来是必须的！否则又学习，又工作，又孩子，会忙不过来的。

学校的幼儿园比私立的好。尽管设施什么的不怎么新，但是老师非常nice. 另外AUT本身有幼教专业，学校的幼儿园就是实习基地，管理相对很正规，不是以盈利为目的的。

只上半天的是公立幼儿园，你孩子去不了。
