The answer is quite simple..The law says 'When leaving a parking area one must give way to all traffic.'

They don't have to tell their insurer anything if they're not lodging a claim. they might want to tell their version to the other party's insurer, but if she tells the same story as Lofty, they'll shut her down pretty quickly.
