三人患病后， 新州卫生当局发布警告警惕“鹦鹉热”
卫生当局对居住在悉尼以西的居民发出了卫生警告， 因为有三个人被诊断出感染了一种可能危险的细菌。
鹦鹉热是一种稀有的可以从鸟类传播到人的感染，感染途径是接触到被感染的动物或者鸟粪。
从四月份以来， 蓝山和Lithgow的三名居民被诊断出感染了鹦鹉热。
卫生当局现在告诫人们避免与鸟类的接触。
虽然所有的鸟类都易于得这种病， 宠物鸟通常是把这种感染传播给人的鸟。
这种病的症状包括： 发烧，头痛，肌肉痛，干咳， 在接触鸟后， 可在5- 28 天发病。
这种感染可以通过抗生素治疗， 也可能导致肺炎需要住院治疗， 老年人通常有更严重的症状。
蓝山地区当地公共卫生主任Bradlzey Forssman 医生建议人们在野鸟周围以及剪草坪时要当心。
Forssman 说：“ 暴露在鸟周围， 或者包含鸟粪的灰尘中，可以导致感染。 直接与野鸟接触，包括手拿和喂养， 要尽可能地避免。”
Forssman 说，当不可避免地接触鸟粪或者在有鸟粪的地方做园艺时， 要佩带个人保护设备。

NSW Health authorities issue alert for ‘parrot fever’ after three people fall ill
A health alert has been issued to people living west of Sydney after three people were diagnosed with a potentially dangerous bacteria.
Psittacosis, or ‘parrot fever’, is a rare infection that can be passed onto humans from birds through exposure to infected animals or their droppings.
Since early April, three residents in the Blue Mountains and Lithgow have been diagnosed with it.
Health authorities are now advising people to avoid contact with birds.
And while all birds are susceptible to the illness, pet birds are usually the ones to pass the infection on to humans.
Symptoms of the illness include fever, headaches, muscle aches and a dry cough and can develop between five and 28 days after exposure.
The infection, which can be treated by antibiotics, can result in pneumonia requiring hospitalisation and older people generally experience more severe symptoms.
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District Director Public Health Dr Bradley Forssman advised locals to take care around wild birds and when mowing the lawn.
“Exposure to birds, or dust containing bird droppings, can result in infection. Direct contact with wild birds, including handling and feeding, should be avoided where possible,” Forssman said.
Forssman says protective equipment should be worn where contact with droppings is unavoidable or when gardening in areas where birds may have left droppings.
