澳洲挂科留学生有组织地攻击校方

中文社交媒体平台微信上一个有组织运动正在协调针对澳洲最大规模的几家大学学者的投诉，他们使用“群众的力量”来为数百名留学生推翻不及格分数。

这个所谓的“反挂科上诉”群叫做悉尼留学生帮助群，它们是由私人渠道组织的，在当地网站登广告，说他们可以帮助推翻不好的成绩。

开群或者控制群的人都是用假名，包括会长先生和大姐，但《周末澳洲人报》的调查发现这些人与最少一个大型的移民留学服务机构Monkey King有关。

悉尼大学的诚信办公室说它在2019年开始就密切留意Monkey King与诚信有关的活动。

大学一名女发言人说: “我们会继续留意他们的活动，有需要会采取适当的行动。”

Monkey King 女发言人Katie Howe 拒绝评论，但代表其中一名股东的律师Chenrui Dong说该公司的宣传活动是交给了SISHG，但对其没有控制权。

同时本报也找到了几十个私人的悉尼大学和新南大学中文聊天群，他们设立的时间刚好是在期末出成绩。为了加入，学生要把成绩单发给群主。

在2019年建立的一个群的信息说: “要加入，请把挂科的截图发给会长(我们这样做是为了确保只有需要上诉的学生在群里).。

本报看到，SISHG微信群里很多首批成员是Monkey King账户。这些账户其中一个微信号叫monkeykingsyd，这个号在十月份都有宣传SISHG群。

《周末澳洲人报》8月份披露有的讲师担心他们被逼降低标准来帮助语言不好的学生，不然就会被100名学生投诉。然而，虽然受影响的学者怀疑这些写信运动是由第三方安排或者写的，但他们没有证据证明这点。

悉尼大学确认2020年收到了83次投诉，还有去年有135宗正式投诉员工是关于功课和评估的。一名女发言人说很多是类似的投诉，显示是有“一个协调的做法”。

其中一宗投诉导致大学对一名员工作出正式惩罚，而有5宗导致校方采取“矫正性行动”。

SISGH在它群里的文章中经常提供详细步骤如何上诉成绩，并且提供了连接到其他微信群的二维码，“这样就更方便聚集群众力量讨论上诉方法。”

2020年7月的一篇文章说: “今年有很多网课，很多学生因为不同奇怪的原因拿到不及格分数。”

虽然Monkey King与SISHG撇清关系，但群里的宣传材料有Monkey King的水印。《周末澳洲人报》看到了一张截图，讨论一次成功的上诉。

很多宣传SISGH的文章说学生很可能会挂科，提到不能毕业带来的羞耻。

在垃圾广告网站出现的一篇文章说: “实际上，总的来说，最重要的是建立信心，如果你被困难打败，最终你只能背负”软弱懦夫“的标签，在生命中没有成就。”

Monkey King提供类似服务，包括一对一服务，帮助上诉挂科和留校观察。

2018年的一篇Monkey King文章叫《如何补救失败…留学生补救战略必看》，里面提供经营了六年有优惠。

这篇文章首先讨论了2018年第一个学期的挂科率，然后提供了成功上诉的案例，包括一名学生告诉Monkey King员工说他们的成绩由挂科变成及格。

作为一名留学中介，大学或者中学会根据每个成功的申请者给他们佣金。这包括卧龙岗大学和纽卡素大学。

An organised campaign on ¬Chinese-language social media platform WeChat is co-ordinating complaints against academics at some of the country’s largest universities, using the “power of the masses” to overturn failed grades of hundreds of inter¬national students.
The so-called “anti-fail ¬appeal” forums, known as Sydney International Student Help Group, are organised in private channels, and advertise on local websites that they can help to overturn bad grades.

Who owns or controls the groups is hidden by the use of pseudonyms — including Mr President and Big Sister — but an investigation by The Weekend Australian has linked at least one major education migration service, Monkey King, to the forums.
The University of Sydney’s Office of Integrity says it has monitored the activities of Monkey King in connection with ¬integrity matters since 2019.
“We will continue to monitor their activities and take appropriate action when it is required,” a university spokeswoman said.
Monkey King spokeswoman Katie Howe declined to comment, but lawyers acting for one of its shareholders — Chenrui Dong — said the company used SISHG for marketing activities but had no control over the group.
Dozens of private Chinese-language messaging groups have been uncovered for the University of Sydney and the University of NSW, which are set up in time for academic results at the end of each semester. In order to gain entry, students are required to send their academic transcripts to the group’s administrators.
“To join, send a screen capture of your fail grade to ‘Mr President’ (we do this to ensure only students who need to appeal are in the group),” a note in one group, set up in 2019, reads.
Many of the first members of the SISHG WeChat groups are Monkey King accounts, according to lists reviewed by this newspaper. Those accounts, including one with the WeChat ID monkeykingsyd, have advertised SISHG groups as late as October.
The Weekend Australian revealed in August that some lecturers were concerned they were being forced to lower standards to assist those with limited language skills — or risk being targeted by complaints signed by up to 100 students. However, while affected academics suspected these letter writing campaigns had been ¬organised and written by a third party, they had no evidence to prove this was the case.
The University of Sydney confirmed 83 complaints had been received in 2020 so far, in -addition to the 135 formal complaints about staff regarding coursework or assessments last year. Of these, a spokeswoman said, a significant number of similar complaints indicated there was a “co-ordinated approach”.
One case resulted in a formal penalty being issued against a staff member, while five resulted in “corrective action” being taken.
In articles about its groups, SISGH often provides a step-by-step guide to academic appeals and provides QR codes linking to several WeChat groups “so that it is convenient to gather the power of the masses together to discuss appeal countermeasures”.
“There are many online classes this year, and many students have unsatisfactory grades due to various weird problems,” one July 2020 article noted.
While Monkey King has distanced itself from SISHG, promotional material circulated by the group — a screenshot of a conversation discussing a successful ¬appeal outcome seen by The Weekend Australian — carries a Monkey King watermark.
Many of the articles promoting the SISGH suggest students are likely to fail, and raise concerns about the dishonour of not passing courses.
“Actually, in summary, the most important thing is to establish confidence, if you are defeated by hardship, in the end you can only carry the label ‘weak coward’ and have no accomplishments in life,” one piece, which appeared in Sydney Today, reads.
Monkey King offers similar services, including help on a one-on-one basis to appeal failed grades and academic probation.
A Monkey King article from 2018, titled “How to remedy the failure … a must-read remedy strategy for international students”, offers a discount to celebrate six years of operations.
After discussing the fail rate for first semester in 2018, the article provides “cases studies” of successful appeals, including one student telling a staff member from Monkey King that their grade changed from fail to pass.
As a student recruiter, Monkey King is paid a commission by secondary and tertiary institutions for each applicant who successfully applies for their school. This includes University of Wollongong and University of Newcastle.

现在留学中介一条龙服务做得不错，从申请学校，到一对一中文补课辅导，还帮助申诉，申诉也只是把有需要的学生集合起来，申诉不本来就是这些挂科学生的权利么，能对学生集体行使这种权利采取什么行动呢？
没明白帮助挂科学生去申诉有什么错。又不是帮助作弊。

所以文章作者的意思是挂科了不能组队或者找专业人士申诉？把学生挂掉的老师要是打分打的没问题的话怕什么？还有那个被正式处罚了的老师，处罚的原因是什么呢？

警察开了罚单都可以申诉，杀人犯可以请律师，留学生被挂科不能找一块去申诉了？

If a student complains against a university staff member, it has to be his genuine complain, not as part of a coordinated action for the purpose of putting more pressure on the staffer. Such coordinated action may turn one student’s complaint into apparently 100 students‘, causing extreme pressure on the lecturer.  In my opinion, it is a form of bully.

The university’s complaint policy to protect students from being unfairly treated and also as a means to improve staff performance. It should not be abused for the purpose of pressuring the lecture to change students exam results.

留学生也委屈，大学也委屈。我们局外人不知谁对谁错。这样的话，留学生以后不要来了，不要申请澳洲的大学，澳洲的国门也不必给留学生开了。大学少一点人浮于事，也好整顿一下。

有人说大学为了钱为了学费及格率有限，真是被中介洗脑洗的不清。从我十几快二十年之前在澳洲上学的时候就知道大学老师是有严格监管的，任何一个学校都不可能设置一个所谓挂科率。现在中国的学生情况是明明自己能力达不到八大的要求，却偏偏通过各种手段往八大挤，语言和学术成绩一塌糊涂。学校上课不好好上，去中文补习班，把学过的东西再中文学一遍，就这样还过不了，还要再让中介帮忙申诉。所以现在留学生的质量越来越差！

难怪国内都说澳洲大学水平低呢！我有听说澳洲大学毕业回去的留学生英语都说不利索，也不知道怎么毕业的？申诉还要找中介帮忙，自己能写个complaint 信吗？澳洲大学也该精简整顿，不能为了钱什么水平的都收！才会闹成这样！

悉尼大学商科某门必修课就有多少百分比的不及格率,最著名的某课不是挂了20-30%。连悉尼大学都向钱看，学生当然有权利上诉了。

我认识一个留学生placement挂了，理由是communication issue，而且不给机会申辩。 如果就是有老师要欺负中国留学生，希望这些人站出来，为自己基本人权。

感觉澳州越来越不对了，那么多其它国家的人买论文和作弊，怎么不见报道？
