Angus Taylor has contradicted the head of his own party on gender quotas, admitting he is “not a supporter” after Opposition Leader Sussan Ley said she was “fine” with the idea.
Ms Ley in her first address to the National Press Club on Wednesday described herself as “zealot” towards the issue of increasing female representation within the Liberal Party and an “agnostic” towards解决此问题。

Speaking to Sky News host Kieran Gilbert on Thursday, Mr Taylor commended Ms Ley on the speech she made in Canberra, and agreed she was “absolutely right” that the party needed more females within its ranks.
