WESTPAC'S internet banking service has ground to a halt with customers unable to access accounts via desktop or mobile devices.
The bank made the admission more than two hours ago as it fielded questions on Twitter about the service going offline.
Westpac said it was investigating the matter and was "working on resolving the issue as a matter of urgency".
However, the bank couldn't say when the problem would be fixed.
"Our team is working on an urgent fix however (there's) no time frame yet," Westpac said on the social media site.
It apologised for the inconvenience
