为了可以看出排名，我把上述数据转成了mdb文件（access2003），sort by “Median Study Score“和“40+ Study Scores”， 有兴趣了解你所居住附近中学的教学情况的，可以参考。
MAC ROBERTSON GIRLS HS今年又无可争议的有高踞榜首。

Girls school tops VCE again
VICTORIA'S only selective public girls school has cemented its position as the state's leading VCE performer, achieving top scores for the fourth year in a row.
Students at MacRobertson Girls High School recorded a median study score of 38, with 38 per cent of students achieving study scores of 40 or above. VCE subjects are marked out of 50, with 30 being the average. A score between 30 and 40 is above average, while a score above 40 represents an exceptional performance.
MacRobertson's assistant principal, Marilyn Smith, said the school's results reflected a culture of celebrating success. "It's not cool to be a fool here, it's cool to be a high achiever."
MacRobertson's fellow selective school, Melbourne High, obtained a median study score of 37, along with Jewish schools Bialik College and Leibler Yavneh College.
Non-selective government schools that performed well included University High — which has a gifted students program — McKinnon Secondary College and Glen Waverley Secondary College.
Three small country public schools — Cann River P-12 College, Edenhope College and Wycheproof P-12 College — also scored strongly, with median study scores in the mid-30s. At the remote Cann River school, about 460 kilometres east of Melbourne, just two students took year 12 subjects this year, including Catherine Tope, 17, whose tertiary entrance ranking was 77.35.
"It (being the only year 12 student) had its good points," Catherine, who plans to move to Melbourne for university next year, said. "There wasn't anyone else to compare my work with, but I had teachers one-on-one."
St Kevin's College and Loreto Mandeville Hall were the highest-achieving Catholic schools, and elite schools in the Camberwell area produced some of the state's most successful VCE students.
Camberwell Girls Grammar overtook Presbyterian Ladies College as the state's top independent girls' school, while Camberwell Grammar was the best-performing independent boys school, taking the title from Melbourne Grammar.
Away from Melbourne's eastern suburbs, Ballarat & Clarendon College and Penleigh and Essendon Grammar were near the top of the class of 2005.
St Margaret's in Berwick also climbed the leader board. "It has been an exceptional year," said St Margaret's principal, Helen McDonald. "It all comes back to being a school where you do really value personal best … and that school can be anywhere."
The VCE data also reveal that of the 498 schools that offered VCE this year:
■ All the students at 22 schools applied for tertiary places.
■ 200 schools had a 100 per cent VCE completion rate.
■ 32 schools had a 100 per cent Vocational Education and Training completion rate.
■ 34 schools had no students achieving study scores above 40.
The median scores and other school data are published in a special lift-out today.
The 13 Victorian schools that offer the International Baccalaureate diploma as an alternative to the VCE said the data did not give a complete picture of their students' achievements.

这统计我是用Median Score中间成绩作为排名第一线索。中间成绩不是平均成绩，是排名中间那位同学的成绩，这样就避免了可能由于几个天才学生或几个特殊笨蛋学生的特好或差的成绩，而台高或降低了平均成绩。一般来说，房地产中也是用中间价，而不是平均价来衡量一个地区的房价的。40+ Study Scores是高分同学比例，作为第2线索。
MAC ROBERTSON GIRLS HS和MELBOURNE HS属政府精英学校，即selective public schools（是不是维省仅此2所？），它们是不按住址来接受学生（换而言之，其他公立中学都是按就近住址来接受学生，学校选择性不高），他们每年要举办如学考试，从其他学校吸收尖子学生。这也就是为什么连最著名的私立中学也不是它们的对手。
公立中学中，GLEN WAVERLEY SC和BALWYN HS等，这都是老牌按就近住址来接受学生的名校，其成绩不差于很多私立学校，但它们一般都有严格的校园范围规定，即school zone。你只有住在school zone并满足其要求，孩子才可入学。这样的话，school zone的房价则明显高于不是school zone的房价。以GLEN WAVERLEY SC为例，同样的GLEN WAVERLEY房子，在GLEN WAVERLEY secondary college school zone的房子要高过不在school zone的房子10多万。
孩子上学问题是每个家长共同关心的问题。希望对大家能有所帮助。也希望大家能多交流。

knox school好像也不错，差距不大

knox school, VERMONT SC, RINGWOOD SC, KEW HS,CAMBERWELL HS,BOX HILL HS, BLACKBURN HS等，看起来在公立学校中应该属于一个集团，还是不错的。knox school的规模好像略小些，因此统计波动也会大些。总的来说，这个集团的学校，应该来说还算是可以凑合的。
Glen Waverley比balwyn基本上相仿，属于另一个集团。明显得好于上述集团。但其school zone有点太苛刻。
