Bialik college再一次从Mac.Robertson Girls' High School手中抢回了VCE头牌的称号。
这所位于Hawthorn East的犹太教私校今年从第三位上升到第一位，获得了中位成绩38的高分。全校40.2%的应届VCE考生取得了40或40以上的分数。
这是这所学校3年中第二次夺得头牌。

Ruyton Girls’ School 从第16位，跳到第5位。29.9%的毕业生获得了40及以上的成绩。

在普通公校中，排名前列的学校为Balwyn High School, McKinnon High School和Box Hill High School。他们的成绩中位数均为34. 在他们后面是： Melbourne Girls’ College, Glen Waverley Secondary College和the University High School, 成绩中位数位33.
12所私立学校获得了36分的中位成绩。Presbyterian Ladies’ College, St Kevin’s College, Haileybury Girls College, Fintona Girls School, Mount Scopus Memorial College, Melbourne Grammar School, Korowa Anglican Girls’ School, Ballarat Clarendon College, Camberwell Anglican Girls Grammar School, Loreto Mandeville Hall, Sacre Coeur and Methodist Ladies College.
Melbourne Grammar取得了10年间最好的成绩。自2010年来第一次获得中位成绩36分。
排名靠前的教会学校还有有位于Toorak的St Kevin’s College。都市区以外排名最高的学校是Ballarat Clarendon College.

Median,叫中间值，房价上一般说中位数。所有人成绩低到高或者高到低排名，排在中间的那个。不是平均值。

正向楼上解释的那样。比如一组成绩1, 2, 3, 4, 5。那么中位数就是3。。。
这样做的一个原因就是避免成绩过高或者过低的人数拉动平均成绩。中位数便于和其他学校掉横向比较

Bialik College Principal Jeremy Stowe-Lindner said his school’s impressive results were due to its balanced approach to the VCE.
“When you look at the high achievers, they are all kids who are involved in sport, performing arts and the leadership team,” he said. “They are not kids locked in a room.”
He said this “ethos of balance” filtered down to the way the school communicated with parents and students.
For instance, in his recent VCE letter to the school community, Mr Stowe-Lindner details how much money students have raised for charity, how many hours they have volunteered and their participation rates in sport and art. And that's before VCE results are even mentioned.
“We see a correlation between the more you do outside your studies and the better you do,” he said.
