A 28-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences after crashing into a family of five on King Street in Newtown at about 7pm on Sunday.
The man behind the wheel was charged with driving under the influence and in a dangerous manner, as he allegedly crashed his black MG SUV into a Mercedes.
CCTV footage captured the vehicle speeding down the wrong side of King Street before slamming head-on into the family of five.
The crash brought the bustling street filled with restaurants to a standstill as police and ambulance workers attended the scene.
