My mom only had one eye.
I hated her …
She was such an embarrassment.
She cooked for students and teachers to supports the family.
There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to say hello to me.
I was so embarrassed. How could she do this to me?
I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out.
The next day at school one of my classmates said,”EEEEE, your mom only has one eye!”
I wanted to bury myself. I also wanted my mom to just disappear.
So I confronted her that day and said,” if you’re only gonna make me a laughing stock, why don’t you just die?!!!”
My mom did not respond…
I didn’t even stop to think for a second about what I had said, because I was full of anger.
I was oblivious to her feelings.
I wanted out of that house, and have nothing to do with her.
So I studied real hard, got a chance to go to Singapore to study.
Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own. I had kids of my own.
I was happy with my life, my kids and the comforts.
Then one day, my mother came to visit me.
She hadn’t seen me in years and she didn’t even meet her grandchildren.
When she stood by the door, my children laughed at her, and I yelled at her for coming over uninvited.
I screamed at her, “How dare you come to my house and scare my children” GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!!
And to this, my mother quietly answered.” oh, I’m so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address,” and she disappeared out of sight.
One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house in Singapore.
So I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip.
After the reunion, I went to the old shack just out of curiosity.
My neighbours said that she died.
I did not shed a single tear.
They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have.
“My dearest son, I think of you all the time. I’m sorry that I came to Singapore and scared your children.
I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion.
But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you.
I’m sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you were growing up.
You see…. When you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye.
As a mother, I couldn’t stand watching you having to grow up with one eye.
So I gave you mine.
I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye.
With my love to you,
Your mother.”

中文版的还make sense一些，说的是妈妈的眼睛是儿子小时候玩簪子给扎瞎的，其他都一样
说实在话，这些人愿意把这样的事情一直憋到死，那干脆死后也别讲，把秘密带到坟墓里去算了。要么就早早说实话，大多数时候谎言才最伤害人
而且妈妈的眼睛怎么移植到小孩子的眼眶里去？儿子要连这个都不记得，那得多小的时候就移？这怎么塞得进去？这编故事的水平实在是太差了点

我知道是寓意，但是我受不了这种滥编故事来骗人动感情的，这个世界上感动人的真实故事还不够多吗？前几天那个叫Mikayla的小女孩的故事就很让人感动。从我个人的角度来讲，这种骗人眼泪的故事是一种insult，你既然想让别人付出感情，你自己最少要先honest/sincere。我不是说不是事实就不sincere，一个合理的故事、充满感情的小说，你能从中看到、感受到作者的真实情感，那也是honest/sincere的。这个故事连基本事实都不顾，在我看来就是受不了的那种
当然我也理解这个是因人而异的，就像《Seven Pounds》，我看完了出电影院的时候看到有不少chicks眼睛红红的，我自己是一肚子气，想着你他妈的一个大白痴，用box jelly fish自杀，那是神经毒素，你现在身上的所有零件都没用了，还装什么好人
结果就是我一点点感动都没有了。但是很显然这个并不影响很多其他人仍然感动得稀里哗啦。

拜托，这位童鞋，咱不管这故事是编的如何。但是人体器官从出生到死亡都不会有任何改变的（长大或缩小）就是眼睛。即使这缺德儿子的眼睛跟她妈的眼睛大小有差异也会是相当有限的。建议google一下再下结论。

儿子没良心也是父母亲从小未灌输正确观点或者社会铸成的错。
就是可惜孩子长大成人了，甚至有了孩子还未知觉，那就说不过去。
从这一点看起来，这文章肯定是凭空编出来的。

嗯，看来20楼的tx确实做了些功课。
提出不同意见之前我自己也确实google过了，所以才敢发言。最早我听说人的眼球不会生长是N年前从discovery上知道的，后来一次是我同学把她儿子学习science的一个网站（澳州网站）发给我，因为里面有些很简单易懂的人体科学知识顺便也能学学英语，里面也有讲到人的眼球不会像其他器官一样生长。所以我确实没有bullshit，俺也没那本事编这出这个来，您高估我的智商了 :p
对于你说的观点我也在google搜到一些，但是我希望能找到权威机构的信息，可惜我在有限的时间内还没有找到。
wikipedia，或.com（商业网站）里面所说的我暂且不能完全相信，大学写作文的时候，凡用wikipedia作为reference的同学只会被fail，不是wikipedia的信息不好，但是wikipedia是谁都可以写进信息的百科全书，我自己也曾经在wikipedia上写过，所以wikipedia权威性应该说不够。
如果20楼或其他tx能找到权威的网站信息请引证一下。也让我和想了解实情的tx的知识update一下，先谢啦！
