英语学习从简单到精通：大量鲜活实例——不定期更新
初衷：
一是为这个knowledge pool做一点点滴贡献。本贴中用到的例子都出自Aussie，特别适用于email中的写作，当然也适用于工作场合的沟通交流。二也是抛砖引玉，希望大家一起来分享学习英语的经验和快乐。三是千里之行，始下足下，希望同学们共同进步，一起打造华人在澳洲的美好天空。
对于以英语为第二语言的我们人来说，当英语学到一定程度时，我觉得会有一些如下的比较大的困难需要克服。
1、介词（及短语）的固定搭配，比如很常用的call me on+phone number;
2、习惯用法；
3、分词用法；
4、动名词及不定式；
当然，更高阶的是用英语思维来写作，但是，由于这中间涉及文化因素，所以不是本贴将会主要focus的内容。
我会把我所用的例子大致分成上述几大类，有的地方会做一些解释及点评，希望大家喜欢。
每个例子其实都很简单，也很实/常用，只要把它们都活学活用就离精通不远了，这也是标题“从简单到精通”的原因。
如果您发现了例子中有不对的，或者有更好的用法的地方，恳请您不吝指出，在这里先谢过了。
大家有什么意见建议，可以及时告诉我，以便我改进侧重点，满足大家的需要。

介词（及短语）等固定搭配
We are concerned at......
It is difficult when confronted (请注意在when之后的现在分词和过去分词的用法，现在分词表示主动，过去分词表示被动) with + sth
The report will be different again this month as l am going to ask XXXX to include a template for you to record your numbers against the initiatives as well as provide commentary.
习惯用法——普通部分
表示提醒/示，引用等：
In reference to XXX (for example hone call, conversation), ......
Further to our exchange of emails, ...（用于句子开头，用于提示收件人）
Further to our conversation over the phone, ...（用于句子开头，用于提示收件人）
A copy of this email is forwarded to other units in case ...（之后跟一个句子）
表示要求，请求：
Can you please update *** and *** with the latest developments regarding ****?
表示征询：
Have you had any expressions of concern from *** regarding ***?
表示感谢：
Thanks in anticipation. 老是用Thank you in advance有点单调。
表示抱怨：
I am yet to hear from you…which disappoints me.（老板跟managers们报怨）
其它：
I understand you discussed a concern with ***, one of my *** regarding ***.
I will review with XXXX next Wednesday morning and send to you once we have agreed on it.
习惯用法——政治性语言、客套话、漂亮话部分，这些话对于有志做leader的同学比较有用，否则看看就好了
I want you all focussed on your staff training plans, our job is to grow and develop our people!
Take the time to talk to your people and ask them “why do we do that and what value does it add?” Engage them in the solution.
This must remain a weekly focus until we have it back under control and everyone has a role to play.
What we spoke about yesterday was a firm belief in us as a team, we just need to change our approach and look at where we are spending our time.
Be bold, be confident, be compassionate, be consistent BE LEADERS. Challenge, probe, engage, educate, lead and make some noise around wins. We are all winners by nature, let’s swing some of that winning belief we have in ourselves and each other into our actions as leaders.
Please don’t talk to me about “what you are going to do”, talk to me about what you tried to do differently that didn’t work AND what you've learnt from it!!
Particular attention and reporting on our budget initiatives is paramount as we are behind on our revenue targets, the other key area I want commentary from you all on is leave reduction initiatives. With declining revenue we must be focussed on cost reductions and leave is the one where we can plan to reduce without with some “lateral thinking” and not too much effort.
