A landlord is furious at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade for protecting a foreign diplomat who owes $20,000 in rent and damage to the property.

The Tenancy Tribunal ruled in favour of Wellington landlords Matthew Ryan and Rebecca Van Den Bos' after they sought reparations from a former tenant, European Union first secretary and deputy head of mission Eva Tvarozkova.

But the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) has now intervened, saying the proceeding should never have taken place because Tvarozkova has diplomatic immunity.

的确是这样。
比如你拿一个remuera的房子再怎么降价，穷三哥也觉得贵，他trademe上一扫这个价位的房，发现remuera这么方便的区也有房，奔过来一看，这个价他在mt roskil sth租个三房house,你这只是个两房unit凭什么,太贵了。你的世界他不能理解。
当然你要是把otara的房子标个mt eden的价，也是不对滴

一曝光，- nz government will use tax payer money to pay for her.

Cos, the legal fee will be easily $20k for Ministry of Foreign Affairs to engage a lawyer to argue immunity. And the landlord will continue to publicise the photo that will bring EU into disrepute.

The Govenment will enter into a secret settlement ( pay the money) and ask the Landlord to keep quiet from now on.

Haha.......

不是这个意思。我说的是同地段同等级的房子，如果租金优恵，申请者会倍数增加，在里面挑理想租客很容易。如果反之，租岀去都不容易，还挑什么租客。

Even not waived, her reputation is /will be tarnished.

Next, if the landlord's case is struck off by tenancy tribunal on the immunity issue, he will be interviewed by TVNZ and even international tv on " abuse of immunity power".

It will be on Youtube, social media and whenever her name is searched, these immunity thingies will come out.

The choice is on her, hide behind immunity or be a real person to face the issue.

She is not going away, still in Wellington, just renting somewhere else.
Watch out, the next landlord - "any unpaid rent, damages will not be recovered"
