好像我的deck 長6米用兩條3米的decking timber 完成，但是timber 中間要留幾毫米嗎？
還是不需要？

不过我感觉还是个人喜好，喜欢留就留，不喜欢就不留。

接口是不留缝的，留缝也是在两边留，中间留缝多难看，再就是deck 板一般长度都不一定, 除非你用人造板。

估计想留的人是考虑热胀冷缩， 我感觉没什么必要。 而且木板都是固定在joist上了， joist间隔 450mm， 所以无论几米长，也热胀冷缩不到哪去。
我做的时候没留， 而且板子的头有时还特意切掉一点， 这样两块板join的时候才更严实。 我是夏天最热的时候做的deck，所以也不用担心热胀了。

gap between the boards should be no less than 3mm.
the distance from the board edge to the screw should be no less than 10mm to prevent crack.

if your boards are under the roof and installed during the summer, it should be alright to have gap less than 3mm, but at less 1mm gap, unless your deck board is extremely dry.
