I am curious about how cyclone Alfred has and is affecting solar systems, particularly with respect to solar production and solar panels.

Definitely lower – 12 kW ssytem...
Sat 20 kWhSun 7.4 kWhToday so far – 2.88 kWhToday will be similar to Sunday..
Overall the peak is around 50 kWh and the low is around 5 kW...
it doesn't need to be a cyclone, any cloudy rainy day will be lower production..
What is different about a cyclone or a tropical low is multiple days in a row with very low production.
My experience is low production can last 3-5 days...
Fully charged in advance, with around 5 kWh of solar generation per day, I think battery +,solar can last up to 24小时。 Switching off a few loads, and very judicial use of electricity might stretch that to 30-40 hours...
If the grid is out for up to 5 days, the system might still black start when the sun comes back,,..
But ultimately to be 100% secure, you need a generator or V2H.
However, battery + solar combined with opening the fridge only when we need to and perhaps installing some bags

When the gird is down, the VPP does nothing, and we might be converging towards grid scale batteries absorbing most of the small price peaks..
V2G / VPP also requires a new car.... adding more home batteries and solar is definitely the easier faster and cheaper option for now.
