Hi all,
What garden light systems have people installed in their gardens? Have a few feature trees, some steps and a seating area id like to illuminate with some elv type of lighting system. Ideally wifi enabled. Any suggestions?
Cheers

Any brand of inground 12V lights, with replaceable lamps, install garden lighting cables and connect up each light. Mount weatherproof transformer near a power point. Have a sparky install a wifi control device such as grid connect, shelley etc, in a weatherproof box next to the powerpoint, then you install the app on your phone and you are up and working with schedules, timers etc.
I am a sparky and have installed similar systems to this.

Cheers mate. I’m a sparky too (well was, I do something different these days but still have my licence), just don’t deal with domestic stuff at all. I’ll look into all that, cheers.

I've installed Holman RGB
This guy:

Plus a couple of these guys:

With extension cables and extension tee's to get the distance. It also supports path lights, hanging tree lights etc.
It does what it says on the box. You can only control all of the lights, not each light individually. If that's important to you. (it isnt for me)
At my old place I went with Brilliant. It was only Bluetooth controlled. I found it a bit buggy, a bit of a pain to program, and the lights not so bright (which was fine for that garden). But it was cheaper.

I’ve heard of poor reviews from other research I’ve done in general on anything Holman. But in saying that, its the best “all-in-one” sort of thing I’ve come across.

If you don't want RGB, connect the garden lighting to your preferred brand of plug-in wireless smart switch and stick it in an outdoor electrical enclosure such as this.
I did have the Brilliant Combi Smart Wi-fi controller but it only lasted about 1-2 weeks before dying. Went through around three of them before just going to the smart plug in a box.
If you go with plug in garden lights then most of the plugs are incompatible between brands (Although the trunk lines for Holman and Brilliant plugs can connect with each other).

If you install lights that need a weatherproof connection, other than one of the branded lighting system screw type connectors, have a look at Wago Gel Packs. I have used them a few times and they seem to be great for any LV in ground connection. Just need the correct size Wago connectors to suit the gel pack, and you are away.

Some good recommendations above. Hard to find DIY lighting with replaceable bulbs.
I’ve installed Philips Hue. A bit pricey but they work very well & are so easy to control, etc.

A lot of the HPM 12VAC range of garden lights has user replaceable bulbs (for white lights, not RGB) – https://www.hpm.com.au/en/pro
Brilliant also have a spotlight with replaceable bulb – https://brilliantlighting.com

Thanks for the tips. They don’t seem too bright but a good cheaper alternative.
