Doctor who wrongly vaccinated elderly patients did not complete training
A doctor who administered a higher-than-prescribed dose of the Pfizer jab to two elderly Australians did not complete the required vaccination training.
HealthCare Australia, which was responsible for the vaccination of the aged care residents in Queensland, said all health professionals had completed the online training provided through the Australian College of Nursing.
However Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt told Parliament that HealthCare Australia has now revised its advice to say that the doctor had NOT completed the required training.
He has asked the Health Department to “take action against the company and the doctor for what is a clear breach.”
An 88-year-old man and 94-year-old woman were given the additional doses and are now being monitored in hospital.
The doctor who administered the doses has been stood down from the vaccine program.
