A car hit a tree in the Northgate area last night and Queensland police are investigating.
Preliminary investigations show that at around 10:10 at night, a car left the road and hit a tree while driving south on Earnshaw Road.
A male passenger in his 20s died on the spot.
The 23-year-old male driver was injured and was taken to the hospital.
Police are investigating the speed of the car accident.
